Speed up a slow computer
A slow machine is rarely past it, and rarely just one thing — so I work out why first. Do this long enough and you learn to read them: a tired drive, clogged-up Windows, a hidden virus, not enough memory, or it's choking on caked-in dust and worn-out fans and throttling itself to survive. Then I fix the actual cause — usually a modern SSD and the configuration most never get right, the under-the-bonnet settings where the real speed hides. Sometimes a clean fresh start is the best fix; anything precious on there is backed up and treated like gold first. Tired old laptop or a gaming rig that's lost its frames — same eye, same care.

Deleted something, or the computer won't start and your photos are trapped on it? Stop using the device and call me first — every restart can lower the chances. If I can't get your files back, you don't pay for the recovery. Simple as that.

Lots of software problems don't need a visit at all. I connect in securely while you watch everything I do on your screen — you stay in control, and you can end it with one click. Slowness, pop-ups, email trouble, settings gone weird: often sorted within the hour, no waiting in, no callout fee.

Lost frames, stutter, fans like a jet, heat throttling mid-game. I strip the dust out properly, sort the thermals (fresh paste only if it needs it), and run the performance tune most shops never touch — memory at its rated speed, stability-tested. Cooler, quieter, faster — usually speed you already paid for.

Sick of Google and Microsoft knowing everything? I'll keep your data your own — from a solid private backup right up to your own private cloud: passwords, files, photos, even your own Netflix, self-hosted on kit you own. A bit of a passion of mine.
Networks down, email chaos, backups that don't exist, "the office can't work" mornings — I come out and get you moving again at £65–75/hr, told before I start. You deal with me directly, I answer my own phone, and remote support means a lot of it's fixed within the hour. No contracts, no SLAs, no account managers.

Do you cover my area?
Bradford, Leeds, Ilkley, Guiseley and out to Harrogate — callouts by arrangement, and I travel further for evening and emergency jobs. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask, I'll tell you straight.
What if you can't fix it?
On data recovery it's no recovery, no fee. On a repair, you only pay the diagnosis fee to find out what's wrong — and if it's not worth fixing, I'll tell you straight and suggest what to buy instead.
How do I pay?
Card (tap your card or phone), bank transfer, or cash — whatever suits you. You pay when the job's done, not before.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured. Your kit and your data are safe with me, and I work on a copy wherever I can so your originals stay untouched.
Will you explain what you did?
Always, in plain English, with no jargon and no making you feel daft for asking. Half the job is making sure you understand it.
Can I send you a photo of the problem?

Will I lose my files, or will you wipe my computer?
Your stuff stays yours. Most fixes keep everything exactly where it is. If a clean fresh start genuinely is the best fix I'll tell you first — and anything precious gets backed up before I touch it. Nothing happens without your say-so.
